Blackfen lies south-west of Bexleyheath with a DA15 postcode, which is officially a Sidcup one and confuses people filling in online forms. We work there every week at the same prices as everywhere else: £243 for a two bed tenancy clean, £43 for a living room carpet and £23 an hour for a weekly cleaner.

The shopping parade on Blackfen Road is the centre of things, and it serves the northern edge of Sidcup as much as Blackfen itself. We give the flats above the parade the early slots and the houses behind it the later ones. On most of the round it is the other way about.

These are a different job from the semis. All our kit goes up a narrow flight of stairs, so we come early while the parade is quiet, at the same price as a house. When you call, tell us which two shops your door sits between.
Bigger cookers in extended kitchens
Behind the parade it is interwar estate housing on long, curving roads, mostly three bedrooms with a bay window and a drive. The original kitchens were small. Many have been extended at the back, and a bigger kitchen usually brings a bigger cooker with it.

A 90cm range costs more than a double and takes longer, because its cast iron pan supports, burner caps and drip trays all have to be lifted off and soaked as well as the shelves. The oven cleaning page walks through each step.
Weekday slots book up weeks ahead
Most of what we do here is regular weekly and fortnightly cleaning on set days, often with a key safe by the door. Weekly cleaning is £23 an hour and fortnightly £24. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings go first, and weeks in advance, because many customers have held the same slot for years and have no plans to let it go. Thursday is usually where the room is.
Moving out
Tenancy cleans are priced by bedrooms and agreed before we start. The oven is added separately, £31 with the clean, and in these extended kitchens it is often a range. Most houses here have three bedrooms, so £339 is the price we get asked about most; a two bed is £243 and a four bed £425. Add carpets and they drop to £29 for each bedroom plus £35 for the stairs, cheaper than booking them on their own.
Limescale
The water is hard here, as it is across the DA postcodes. Shower screens show it first. Descaling is part of a tenancy clean, which matters, because the screen is often the first thing an inventory clerk photographs.
