Erith is DA8, the Thames-side town at the north end of the borough, and it has the oldest houses on our round. The prices match Bexleyheath’s: £243 for a two bed tenancy clean, £43 for a living room carpet, £77 for a single oven and £23 an hour for a weekly cleaner.
Older houses, more to dust
Erith’s riverside housing is older than the interwar semis that make up Bexleyheath. That means higher ceilings, sash windows in places, and plenty of original features such as picture rails, deep skirtings, coving and the odd ceiling rose. All of it collects dust, and none of it gets done with one pass of a duster on a pole. A three bed terrace here takes longer than a three bed semi up the hill, but the tenancy clean price is the same, so we start earlier.
Drying near the Thames
Homes close to the river dry more slowly. On a still December day a freshly cleaned carpet might want most of the afternoon with a window open. So we book carpet cleaning in Erith for mornings, giving the pile the whole day. In summer there is no difference at all.
Quick turnarounds for landlords
Letting agents here often want a flat turned round between a Friday check-out and a Monday viewing. We can do that. A two bed tenancy clean is £243 and takes two cleaners a morning; if the carpets are being done too, we start at 8am so they get the afternoon to dry. Give us the viewing date when you call. We can invoice the agent directly where that is simpler.
Deep cleans between lets
Landlords here also book one-off deep cleans before re-letting, when a flat is tired rather than properly dirty.
| Team on site | Total with kit |
|---|---|
| 2 cleaners for 3 hours | £186 |
| 2 cleaners for 4 hours | £238 |
| 3 cleaners for 3 hours | £264 |
| 3 cleaners for 6 hours | £498 |
Two cleaners for three hours covers a two bed flat. A terrace with picture rails and a fireplace in most rooms needs four hours with two, and after building work three cleaners for six hours is the honest booking. The deep cleaning page explains the £30 kit charge and when we waive it.
No tube, plenty of buses
No Underground line reaches Bexley. Erith is on the bus network that spreads out from Bexleyheath town centre, which is how our non-driving cleaners get here, and the vans come by road.
Water
Hard, from chalk and the tidal catchment. Descaling is part of the job here rather than an extra, and in a bathroom nobody has touched since the last tenant it is where most of the time goes.

Questions we get asked
What postcode is Erith?
DA8, shared with Northumberland Heath up the hill. Erith is the Thames-side end of the London Borough of Bexley, and it is on our regular round at standard prices.
How much is a deep clean in Erith?
£186 gets you a two-person team for three hours (£26 an hour each) plus £30 of equipment. Older homes with more period detail usually need four hours with two, which is £238.
Why book carpet cleaning for the morning?
Anything within a few streets of the river dries more slowly, so a morning start gives the carpet the whole day. In summer an afternoon slot is fine.
Do you work for landlords?
Yes, often. A tenancy clean is fixed by bedrooms, with £31 more for the oven if it needs it, and we can bill the agent. If a flat is only tired, a deep clean at £26 an hour per cleaner may cost less.
Are weekly slots easier to get in Erith?
Usually. The weekday diary here does not fill as far ahead as it does in Blackfen or Old Bexley. The rate is the same, £23 an hour for a weekly cleaner.
