Welling is DA16, the next town centre west of Bexleyheath along the A207 towards Shooters Hill, and about ten minutes’ drive from us. Prices there are identical to ours at home: a bedroom carpet at £36, an oven from £77, a one bed tenancy clean at £207 and weekly cleaning at £23 an hour.
Living on the main road
Many of Welling’s older houses face straight onto the A207, and traffic grime is a real factor for them. Inside windows on a main-road house need cleaning more often than the same window a couple of hundred metres back, and net curtains go grey faster.
The conservation area
Welling is one of Bexley’s sixteen conservation areas, and plenty of houses inside it still have their original single-glazed sash windows. Those behave differently from modern double glazing. Every winter, condensation runs down the inside, collects dust from the sill and dries into a mark in the corner that a quick wipe will not shift. We clean them by hand with a gentle product, as standard on a deep clean, and we never take a scraper to old glass.
Buses, not the tube
There is no Underground anywhere in the borough. The A207 through Welling is a busy bus route instead, running east into Bexleyheath and west towards Woolwich, and that is how our non-driving cleaners get here. An 8am start on a road with frequent buses is easy. Two turnings back it is harder, so name your ideal time and we will be straight about whether it is realistic.
What people here book
Mostly regular cleaning, on fixed weekday slots with key safes, much as in Bexleyheath, because the age mix either side of the A207 is about the same. Tuesdays go first.
| How often | Hourly rate | Three hours |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | £23 | £69 |
| Fortnightly | £24 | £72 |
Four hours weekly comes to £92. Nothing is booked under three hours, which covers a flat comfortably and suits a three bed house too, and after the first visit we will tell you if the hours suit the house. After regular work come oven cleans, which start at £77, and then tenancy cleans on the standard bedroom scale from £156.
Flats above the shops
We do a steady trade in the flats over Welling’s shops. Everything goes up a narrow staircase from a door squeezed between two shopfronts. We charge the same as for a house and book them early in the day, while the pavement is clear.
Hard water
Same chalky supply as the rest of the borough. If you have moved from somewhere with soft water, you will spot it on the shower screen within a month.

Questions we get asked
What postcode is Welling?
DA16. It lies just west of Bexleyheath on the A207, ten minutes away for us, on the same prices as the town.
How much does a weekly cleaner cost in Welling?
£23 an hour on a weekly rota, £24 for fortnightly. The shortest visit is three hours, £69 on a weekly rota. We try to send the same cleaner every time.
Do you clean flats above shops?
Yes, at the same price as a house. We book those flats early in the day and carry our kit upstairs.
Can you clean old sash windows?
On the inside, yes. Many Welling homes in the conservation area still have single glazing, so we use a gentler product on the old glass and the painted bars.
Why does living on the A207 make a difference?
Traffic grime. Inside windows and nets on a main-road house get dirty faster than those on a side street. It does not change our prices, only how often people have the windows done.
