Local knowledge

Working in Bexleyheath

The town is essentially a product of the 1920s and 30s, when the railway pushed suburban building across what had been open heath. The result is mile after mile of three-bedroom semi-detached houses with pebbledash or mock-Tudor gables, plus pockets of bungalows near the station. The Danson-side streets in DA6 have the larger plots and deepest gardens, and there's a modest amount of newer flatted development around the town centre and the former Woolwich Polytechnic site.

Access is easier here than almost anywhere we work: off-street parking is the norm, so the van gets right to the front door. The flip side is driveways and garages full of stored belongings that have to be moved before a full house clean. For flats above the Broadway shops, where there's no residential bay at all, the town car parks run 6am to midnight, so we take those as early starts.

Original sashes in the conservation areas

Bexley keeps sixteen conservation areas, including Old Bexley, Crayford and Welling. Those houses still have single-glazed sashes that mist and mark far more than the modern replacements next street over, so they need hand work, not a squeegee.

Fixed prices, not teaser rates

A one-bedroom end of tenancy is £207, the standard price, agreed before we start. Every rate is published below, down to the penny.

Questions

Common questions in Bexleyheath

Is the end of tenancy price really fixed?

Yes: fixed by property size and agreed before we start. A studio is £156, a one-bed £207, up to £425 for four bedrooms. Carpets and ovens are priced separately because not everyone needs them.

Do I need to clear the garage and driveway first?

It helps. Off-street parking is the norm here, so the van gets right to the door, but the same houses tend to have driveways and garages full of stored belongings that have to be moved before a full house clean. Tell us what's there and we'll allow the time.

Can you clean original sash windows?

Yes, by hand. Bexley keeps sixteen conservation areas, Old Bexley, Crayford and Welling among them, and those houses still have single-glazed sashes that mist and mark far more than the modern replacements on surrounding roads. They take longer and we say so up front.

What about flats above the Broadway shops?

There's no residential bay at all on that stretch, but the town car parks run 6am to midnight, so we take those jobs as early starts and load in before the shops open.

Do you charge extra for evenings or weekends?

No. We work seven days, 8am to 8pm, at the same rates. Water here is hard, so we budget proper descaler dwell time on taps, screens and kettles. We bring our own machines and materials.

Priced before we start. Every time.
